Yogadventure gives you the opportunity to experience the benefit of yoga while living at “Il Portico” yoga center, a charming Italian villa with the serenity and atmosphere of an outstanding spiritual retreat center. Imagine yourself on a yoga adventure that immerses you in Italian art and culture, surrounds you with Italy’s pristine countryside and inspires you with delicious and healthful gourmet food.

Instruction is under the guidance of yoga woman, Maria Alfaro, an experienced instructor with diverse yoga teacher training, who tailors her instruction to support you and advance your yoga practice. You enjoy the benefits of exercise releasing trauma and stress; centering you in your practice, and increasing strength, flexibility and endurance. Maria is adept at working with students of all levels of experience.

Yogadventure runs this spectacular yoga tour in Puglia, the southern end of the Italian boot, twice a year, in May and September, when the weather is warm and pleasant and you can enjoy the beautiful local beaches without the crowds of tourists that swarm Italy in the middle of the summer.

“Il Portico” retreat center is located in the gorgeous unspoiled Italian countryside of the Itria Valley near the little town of Cisternino and the bigger town of Ostuni. The airport in the town of Bari’s is about an hour away.

“Il Portico” has a great reputation in the region for its superior vegetarian restaurant and its amazing restored stone buildings from the 16th Century, which have been featured in architectural magazines all over the world.
